Dear Friends,
Happy birthday to me! March is my birthday month and it’s always a time of reflection for me. The first part of the verse above is a great description of my life for the first 38 years. I seemed to be naturally self-destructive and caused havoc and chaos in everyone’s life around me. Today I have come to understand that there were very dark spiritual forces around me guiding me every step of the way. Truly, with my help, the enemy was slowly stealing, killing, and destroying my life.
Then in 1994, I met Jesus in a very real way. And I found…LIFE! Not the life of just waking up and breathing each morning and going about my daily tasks but a life where my spirit came alive. Slowly, as I sought God daily, the fruit of the Spirit started to manifest in my life. I started to love and care about others. I experienced true joy within. I had PEACE for the first time in my life. I was reborn. I wasn’t a changed man. I was a new man.
That’s the essence of LifeQuest. We want the young people we have the privilege of serving to find this life, this abundant life. And we are serving so many young men and women now. God continues to expand our outreach both in Albuquerque and Las Cruces through our programming – The 4:13 Journey, 4:14-The Continuing Journey, Grand Canyon trips and training hikes, our work at YDDC with Bible studies, Character Development classes, GED tutoring, and of course, mentoring. In 2023 LifeQuest volunteers and staff invested over 5000 hours with NM youth.
The summer is gearing up! 4:13 is headed to the Grand Canyon at the beginning of May with our largest group yet. The 11th Annual LifeQuest Charity Golf Classic & Raffle is on June 3rd. Please begin praying for LifeQuest and NM’s incarcerated youth as we once again partner with Straight Ahead Ministries from Boston to present the three-day Ready4Life seminars both at John Paul Taylor Center in Las Cruces and YDDC in Albuquerque at the end of June.
