As I shared with you last month Ryan (Chance) Butts will be joining LifeQuest on March 1st as our new President. It’s my sincere pleasure to introduce Chance to you.. I’m sure many of you will be meeting him personally over the months to come. – John Jones
Hello everyone and a big THANK YOU to John Jones for the amazing things that were said in last month’s newsletter. I am blessed to call John my friend and a spiritual father (but don’t tell him that, he tends to get a big head). He has assembled a great team and he has taught me so many things over 3+ years that I have known him and served at LifeQuest. He has answered my calls in which all I could do was weep and some in which I had other things to say due to the nature of what it is we do. John Jones leaves huge shoes to fill and I pray that I can live up to what it is that he sees in me.
My family and I are very excited to begin this new chapter. Over the last year, ever since John asked me to begin praying about this opportunity to serve with LifeQuest, I have felt both blessed and at the same time so completely unworthy; yet I know beyond any doubt that LifeQuest is where the Lord has called me to. Yet, it is still one thing to feel the Lord call you to something and another thing to have the courage to say yes.
Luke 17: 2-3 “It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around this necks than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. So watch yourselves”.
With that in mind, this position is not a decision that my family and I make lightly and we know that even on our best day we can not do this on our own. It will be only by the guidance and grace of God that we will be successful. We will also need to be surrounded by willing Godly people who love the Lord’s “little ones”. Both for the ministry to come and the sound counsel we will need.
Lastly, I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone and for you all to get to know me and my family. I will share over time how my experiences have shaped my passion for the youth that LifeQuest serves. My own time in Juvenile lock-up and the foster care system and the rescue that God provided through His people.
Stay tuned my friends, we still have so much to do and the future is bright.
