Planting Hope: Holy Ground in the Heart of the Community:
Dear Friends and Family,
I am so thrilled to share the incredible experiences and challenges of our recent mission trip to Mexico. Despite facing some tough conditions, our hearts are overflowing with joy and gratitude for the journey we embarked on together.
Our primary mission on this trip was to share the gospel, grow closer to God and closer as a team, and to till the soil so we could plant grass in a local park. The soaring temperatures and humidity made this task physically demanding, but our spirits stayed high. We worked tirelessly, knowing our efforts would provide a beautiful, green space for the community—a place where families can gather, children can play, and people can find a moment of peace and joy through a deeper connection to the Father.
Our days were not just filled with physical labor; we were also blessed with the opportunity to minister to the local community. We shared the love and teachings of Jesus, engaged in meaningful conversations, and offered prayers of hope and had numerous encounters where people received physical healing. It was a profound experience to witness how God’s presence and through our faith uplifted the spirits of those we met.
The trip wasn’t without its challenges. With no air conditioning and limited access to drinkable water, and unreliable transportation, we truly learned to rely on our faith and each other. These hardships brought our team closer and reminded us of the true essence of our mission—serving others selflessly in the name of Jesus. Each obstacle was a testament to our perseverance and dedication to God’s work.
Amidst the hard work and heat, there were countless heartwarming moments. Whether it was a child’s laughter echoing through the park, a heartfelt thank you from a community member, a youth catching a wave, or simply the camaraderie among our team, these moments reinforced why we were there. We were not just planting grass; we were sowing seeds of love, faith, and hope. Holy Ground.
As we reflect on this month, we are humbled by the impact of our mission. The park is now a symbol of community and renewal, and how the love of Jesus has touched many lives. We are already looking forward to our next trip, eager to continue this vital work with our new friends at Youth with a Mission.
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported us through prayers, donations, and encouragement. Your contributions made this mission possible, and we felt your support every step of the way. We will be starting our “unBanquet” at the end of August so be on the lookout for more information.
Until next month, may God’s blessings be with you all.
