” The Cross of Christ was a triumph for the Son of Man. It was not only a sign that our Lord had triumphed, but that He had triumphed to save the human race. Because of what the Son of Man went through, every human being has been provided with a way of access into the very presence of God.” Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:19-22

Dear Friends,
As we rapidly approach Easter this year I wanted to take a moment and think about what actually happened at the Cross of Jesus. His blood that was spilled actually allowed and continues to allow us to enter into the very presence of God! Think about that. God, Who created the universe and the world we live in and all of mankind has made sure that we have access to Him, not just for eternity but for today! This very moment!

I wanted to share this today because I know how guilty I am of taking this incredible fact for granted way too often. How often do I rely on my own thinking, my own understanding, my own power to try and get through my day, my week, my LIFE?? I have access to THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE to provide me with the answers I seek but I allow my pride, my “own best thinking” to get in the way. I can say I desire the fruit of the Spirit outlined in Galatians chapter 5 all I want ( love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) but I cannot attain those things on my own! They must flow from my relationship with God.

So would you join me this Easter Season to commit to spending more time seeking God and allowing HIS character to be shown throughout my life? Let us together take advantage of the incredible price that was paid so that we might enter into the actual presence of the Living God!

That is the very thing we are trying to introduce to the young people we serve at LifeQuest. Whether in a juvenile facility or out hiking with our 4:13 Journey youth we want to let them know that they don’t have to try and figure out life on their own. Not only will we love them and walk beside them as they navigate their lives but more importantly to let them know that they also can have access to God every minute of every day! What better thing can we give them?

Have a blessed Easter!

Serving together,
John D. Jones
